PLANNED PARENTHOOD
"CELEBRATES" 100 YEARS

NJ proposes a Resolution to Honor Planned Parenthood's 100th Anniversary

When it came to my attention that the New Jersey Assembly proposed a bill to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Planned Parenthood, I had to write to them. AR 182 was introduced by Asm. Andrew Zwicker and Vincent Prieto on October 13, 2016, with a vote scheduled for October 20.

Dear Assembly Members,

It has come to my attention that the Assembly has scheduled a vote for this Thursday, October 20th on AR 182, a Resolution to Honor Planned Parenthood's 100th Anniversary.  I'm writing to say that I object to the passing of this legislation and I urge you to vote NO on this bill.

There is no good reason for our government to pass legislation in support of this nonprofit business entity.  Do you want to be part of a celebration of 100 years of deception and misinformation?

Following is a sample of my research on Planned Parenthood (PP).  I include the text from several articles as well as the links to the specific source for each one:

PP was founded by Margaret Sanger, who "became associated with the eugenics movement, a philosophy that stipulates that society may be improved by barring those deemed unfit from having children. In her book Woman and the New Race, she wrote that birth control was to play a key role in bringing about her vision.  According to Sanger, 'Birth control itself, often denounced as a violation of natural law, is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives'". http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2016/10/16/planned-parenthoods-100th-birthday-marks-100yearsofabuse-activists-say/

A coalition of pro-life groups has started a campaign called #100YearsofAbuse to voice their opposition to PP.  In the statement, they speak of the PP's Margaret Sanger award, "an honor awarded annually by the Planned Parenthood Federation of America since 1966. Created to honor the legacy of Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, it is the Federation's highest honor."

BTW, Hilary Clinton received the Sanger Award and spoke of her admiration for Sanger. http://www.weeklystandard.com/sec.-clinton-stands-by-her-praise-of-eugenicist-margaret-sanger/article/28444

Some quotes and viewpoints of Sanger and Planned Parenthood:

1. "The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."  Margaret Sanger, Women and the New Race (Eugenics Publ. Co., 1920, 1923)

2. On the rights of the handicapped and mentally ill, and racial minorities: "More children from the fit, less from the unfit -- that is the chief aim of birth control." Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12

3. On respecting the rights of the mentally ill: In her "Plan for Peace," Sanger outlined her strategy for eradication of those she deemed "feebleminded." Among the steps included in her evil scheme were immigration restrictions; compulsory sterilization; segregation to a lifetime of farm work; etc. Birth Control Review, April 1932, p. 107

4. Planned Parenthood on Pregnancy: PP views the state of gestation as an abnormal condition or disease. Speaking for the organization, Dr. Warren Hern refers to human pregnancy as "an episodic, moderately extended chronic condition ... May be defined as an illness ... Treated by evacuation of the uterine contents..." ("Is Pregnancy Really Normal?" Family Planning Perspective, Planned Parenthood, vol. 3, No. 1, Jan. 1971, pg. 9)

5. PP seeks to destroy parents' roles and responsibilities in raising their own children to make wise choices by preventing them from doing their parental duty: "If your parents are stupid enough to deny you access to birth control, and you are under 18, you can get it on your own. Call Planned Parenthood."  Planned Parenthood advertisement, Dallas Observer, Jan. 30, 1986

Furthermore...

1. In the past 100 years, it has aborted at least 6,803,782 unborn babies, according to its own annual reports.

2. Several women also have died after having abortions at Planned Parenthood facilities. Two years ago, it paid a $2 million settlement to the family of an Illinois women who died from a botched abortion at one of its facilities. The Planned Parenthood facility reportedly waited five hours before sending the woman to the hospital and never called 911.

3. Pro-life leaders also are looking into another abortion-related death in Michigan involving a young woman named Cree Erwin. Erwin died just three days after she had an abortion at the Planned Parenthood facility in Kalamazoo on June 30, 2016, according to records obtained by Operation Rescue.

4. More recently, the abortion giant also has faced public scrutiny for its potentially illegal sales of aborted baby body parts. In connection to the scandal, last week the Orange County District Attorney's Office filed a lawsuit against two California companies that allegedly sold aborted baby parts from Planned Parenthood.

5. The abortion chain also has been caught failing to report the sexual abuse of young girls. Undercover investigations by Live Action revealed some of its employees were willing to help cover up child sex trafficking, and others gave very young teens dangerous advice about practicing sadomasochism, or torture sex, viewing pornography online and circumventing laws that require parental involvement in reproductive health decisions.

Operation Rescue questions Planned Parenthood's portrayal of their abortion facilities as providing "high quality care." Out of the 53 medical emergencies Operation Rescue has documented during the first 10 months of 2015, a full half of them have occurred at Planned Parenthood facilities. "Planned Parenthood is conducts 40 percent of all abortions in the U.S., but yet they are responsible for half of the complications we see," explained Newman. "Granted, our numbers are not comprehensive by any means, but it is an indicator that Planned Parenthood clinics are at least as dangerous, if not more so, as non-Planned Parenthood facilities. They are all indistinguishable apples in a very rotten barrel." http://www.lifenews.com/2015/11/10/planned-parenthood-hides-botched-abortion-in-call-to-911-she-was-having-a-procedure/

An undercover sting has exposed several abortionists who openly admit they would let a baby die if a live birth were to occur in spite of the attempted abortion.  The abortion industry says that this situation just doesn't happen. So that begs the question, how many babies are born alive as a result of botched abortions?  How many are left to die or killed? While much of the devastating truth may never be known, what we are able to know is startling.  According to the ACLJ's research and statistics recorded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 362 babies born alive following a botched abortion have died in the last decade. While the circumstances surrounding their deaths and whether their lives could have been spared with proper medical attention are mostly unknown, what is known is that an attempted abortion is the only cause of death listed for these newborns and that they were born alive before dying.

PP ignores educating pregnant women about the risks involved with abortions.  (We need to do something about this! Legislation on Informed Consent must become a top priority!)

Abortion advocates claim that abortion is a safe procedure and is, in fact, "safer" than childbirth. These claims are false and ignore the medical data. Abortion causes harm - both physical and psychological - and this harm impacts large numbers of American women every year. Given that over 50 million abortions have been performed since 1973, the number of women harmed by abortion is considerable and growing.

Therefore, I urge you to share this information with your colleagues and I urge you to vote NO on this bill.
